A boss can be a bully; a leader cannot.

Leadership is about being able to guide others and to inspire them to engage their unique abilities and to enthusiastically contribute them to the direction, the outcome, that you are seeking. Leaders, like orchestra conductors, bring people together and guide them to contribute the right notes, the right intensity, the right tempo, to assure an outcome that is a masterpiece.

There are bosses who want help fixing their workers and there are leaders who want to improve their skills as inspirational guides who empower their people and who desire to celebrate success with a team that feels accomplished.

Our focus is on building a culture where high-performance teams are sustainable. When you have that culture, force isn't needed and people feel empowered and accomplished. If this describes your organization, people are engaged and they stick around for the encore and the next performance! If you struggle to attract, retain, engage, and develop people, a culture shift is needed.

Once you have built a culture that allows people to feel empowered and accomplished you will rapidly move away from these frustrations and into a sustainable, high-performance team.
